EXPLORE A MAYAN REEF:

El Meco Reef is an underwater museum located in front of the archaeological site of the same name, specifically between Puerto Juarez and Isla Mujeres.

The Meco or Mayan Reef has an extension of 200 meters wide by 800 meters long and a depth of 4 meters. Not being very deep favors the visibility of its sculptures, making it a perfect area for snorkeling and enjoying the wonders that nature has to offer. Its habitat has more than 500 species: fish, mollusks, crustaceans, corals… Its warm waters allow it to be a tourist attraction at any time of the year.
