Harnessing the Power of People to Fight Ocean Trash

The International Coastal Cleanup began more than 30 years ago, when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline. The movement was catalyzed by the passion and spirit of two committed individuals.

More than 6 million tourists arrive every year in the Dominican Republic. Imagine that each tourist leaves a little plastic on the beaches, in the sea … It also has that the island still has no infrastructure and education of the locals in terms of cleanliness and respect for the environment, there is still much to do . Obviously, every day more Dominicans realize the importance of maintaining both their country and clean beaches so that their children do not wonder what it was like to see fish in the sea.

We have to be all more respectful and careful to keep the nature free of plastic and dirt. That is why today, International Coastal Cleanup, anyone who wants to can help in the cleaning of beaches.

Imagine also that each one of us, even if enjoying the holidays, picks up some trash. Surely the environment that surrounds us and the living beings that inhabit it will thank us.

Imagine in a big way, imagine a world without garbage invading the Environment. Imagine a sea without plastic. Put your bit. Pick up trash.

Thanks to volunteers around the world, the International Coastal Cleanup has become a beacon of hope, leading and inspiring action in support of our ocean. Over the years, this movement has created a family that spans oceans and country borders.
